Outstanding Performance Scholarship

I lacked motivation to learn previously.  With the encouragement, guidance, and support of my teachers, I have found ways to study more effectively and developed a thirst for knowledge.  The Outstanding Performance Scholarship is a testament to my commitment to academic excellence, and I am glad that my hard work paid off. 

The scholarship not only provides me with a sense of honour but also access to various learning opportunities which are invaluable for my personal growth and professional development.  I plan to use the scholarship to enrol in additional courses, workshops, and training programmes that help me explore new horizons, broaden my knowledge, and enhance my counselling skills, thereby preparing myself for a career in social work.

Social work is a noble profession.  The vocation resonates deeply with my fervor for bringing positive changes to people’s livelihood.  At this stage, my goal is to pursue further education in social work.  I hope that I can make substantive contribution in this field in the future. 

Like many others, I have also come across setbacks and obstacles.  However, I see them as opportunities for improvement and focus on the learning process in order to sharpen my will and remedy my shortcomings.  Taking this opportunity, I would like to encourage my younger peers to embrace failure, learn from it, and push beyond your limits.  Believe in yourselves and do not retreat.

I am grateful for the nomination by Lingnan University and the award of the scholarship by the Education Bureau.  The award has bolstered my confidence to keep moving forward.  I am determined to achieve my ambition, and eager to contribute to the betterment of society as a social worker.
