Outstanding Performance Scholarship

It came as both a surprise and an honour to receive the Outstanding Performance Scholarship for the second time.  This is indeed a great encouragement and affirmation to me.  I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Hong Kong College of Technology for the nomination, and to my lecturers and tutors for their guidance, especially Mr Daniel, who teaches Marketing and Advertising, and Ms Daisy Wong, who teaches Essentials of Public Relations.

I am deeply grateful to my family, who have been giving me endless support.  Although I am an adopted child, they have treated me as their own and provided me with ample opportunities to develop my talents and pursue my interests.  As a token of affection, I plan to use a portion of the scholarship to take my family on a vacation.

I love painting and have always been fascinated by Japanese culture.  During my study in HKCT, I came across a Japanese art form called “Nagomi Pastel Art”, which uses simple painting techniques and tools to create heart-warming pieces that can help people relax and unwind.  In order to introduce Nagomi Pastel Art to the wider local community and share the healing power of art, I plan to set aside part of the scholarship as startup funds to promote this art form.  I also hope to use it as a bridge between Japan and Hong Kong in cultural and art exchange, contributing to the enrichment of the city’s multicultural landscape.

To continue developing my other interests and equipping myself with more skills, I will use a fraction of the scholarship to pay for ice skating and piano lessons.  I also plan to join a study tour to Japan to broaden my horizons and add value to myself.

Lastly, I wish for every student to stay healthy and happy while pursuing their academic goals.  When pressure becomes overwhelming, I encourage you to take a break and engage in activities that you enjoy.  Perhaps that will inspire you and help you find direction in your life.
