Best Progress Award
Recipient in the 2024/25 Academic Year

CHU Cho Kiu
Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Supply Chain Management The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong
I am a Year 4 student of BBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM). It is a great honour for me to have received the Best Progress Award (BPA) under the Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS). The award is a recognition of my significant progress in academic and personal development.
My university journey has testified the importance of perseverance and self-improvement. Initially, I struggled with complex SCM concepts such as logistics optimisation, and my grades suffered. The turning point was my Year 3 summer internship at SF Express. I was required to perform the role of a clerk for 180 practice hours. In handling the demanding workload of processing shipments and resolving customer inquiries, I acquired some prioritisation and problem-solving skills. On a particular occasion, I expedited a delayed shipment by coordinating with the warehouse to ensure timely delivery. This was an enlightening experience to me. The internship connected my academic knowledge with practical application of SCM skills in real world. It boosted not only my grades but also my confidence.
Encouraged by the BPA, I aspire to become a supply chain professional who promotes innovative and sustainable logistics solutions. The award fuels my determination to excel in the field and give back to the community.
The scholarship is a blessing that will directly support my education and professional growth, thereby helping me pursue my goal. I plan to pay my tuition fees with a portion of it so that I can focus on my final year studies with less financial burden. In addition, I intend to spend part of the fund on a professional certification course in supply chain analytics which will enhance my expertise in data-driven logistics. By doing so, I will be more prepared to develop a successful career in SCM and contribute to Hong Kong’s dynamic logistics sector.
I would like to thank the Education Bureau and the SPSS for granting me the BPA. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to my family, professors at HSUHK, and colleagues whom I met during internships for their tremendous support.
