Bachelor’s Degree
Under the New Academic Structure, the minimum entrance requirement for bachelor’s degree programme is Level 3 for Chinese Language and English Language and Level 2 for Mathematics and ‘Attained (A)’ for Citizenship and Social Development ('332A') in the HKDSE Examination. Individual institutions will determine the attained level required for one or two elective subjects, and other admission requirement.
From the 2012/13 academic year, the University Grants Committee-funded institutions has increased the full-time first-year-first-degree places to 15 000.
There is also significant increase in full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate places from about 3 000 places in the 2010/11 academic year to about 7 100 in the 2024/25 academic year.
For full-time locally-accredited self-financing and subvented bachelor's degree programmes not covered by JUPAS, please visit the Information Portal for Accredited Post-secondary Programmes (iPASS). Current Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) candidates may use the Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes (E-APP) to lodge advance applications for full-time locally-accredited post-secondary programmes not covered by the JUPAS.
Graduates of undergraduate and other equivalent programmes could pursue further studies in the Self-financing Post-graduate Programmes offered by UGC-funded Institutions as well as other post-secondary institutions.
